I have picked the items of this review myseld. The ensemble has three products from EMP: Melissa Waist Coat, Blacklace cardigan and Lady Gothica leg covers. Each product turned out to be high quality and durable, tested for about a month before writing this review. All the clothes lived through washing without fading, and the price/quality ratio was extremely good. Read more about each product individually:

Gothicana: Lady Gothica

 Minulla on aina ollut eräänlainen fiksaatio polvisukkiin ja mustiin säärystimiin. Puuvillaiset Lady Gothica -säärystimet EMP:n omasta Gothicana-mallistosta kaappasivatkin huomioni välittömästi. Niissä yhdistyy tyylikäs rock/goth -lookki, jossa teoriassa simppelissä mallissa onkin juuri sopivasti yksityiskohtia. Viisi remmiä sitovat halkion puoliskot ja pitävät ne paikoillaan. Remmien pitävyys on hyvä! Solkien avulla lahkeen leveyttä voi lisäksi säätää.

Vastaavissa tuotteissa suurin haaste on saada varsi pysymään ylhäällä. Lady Gothica -säärystimet pysyivät kohtuullisen hyvin, eivätkä valu alas liian herkästi, mutteivät aivan ylhäälläkään pysy. Omalla kohdallani valuminen peruskävelyssä onnekseni pysähtyi kuitenkin polviluulle, mistä alaspäin kangas ei omalla kohdallani ainakaan halua ihan herkästi valahtaa. Juoksuaskeleita nämäkään eivät kuitenkaan kestä ylhällä pysyen, vaan silloin tipahtavat nilkkoihin. Joten en suosittele myöhästymään metrosta tai bussista (kuten tein itse)! Jonkinlaisen kuminauhan lisääminen voisi olla toimiva ratkaisu.

I have always had this sort of a fixation for black knee-high socks, legwarmers and leg covers. Thus, these cotton-made leg covers catched my attention. The product name is "Lady Gothica" and it belongs to EMP's own brand, Gothicana. The style combines goth and rock look, balancing nicely between simple and detailed. Five straps bind the split halves together and keep them in place. The validity of the straps is good! By using the buckles you can also adjust the width of the leg.

In related products, a typical challenge is to make the cover arm to stay up. Lady Gothica's stay actually pretty well. They aren't the type that would drop down to your angles too easily, then again they do seem to gutter just a little bit, though at least for me, it stops to my knee, even when doing some basic walking. But running might be too much: then the leg covers will more probably drop - so I can't recommend being late from the bus or subway (as I did)! One option could be to add some sort of a rubber band to keep the arm up.

Kaikenkaikkiaan säärystimet ovat Blacklace Cardiganin ohella tilaukseni toinen suosikki ja näitä on tullut käytettyä hyvin ahkerasti.

Mistä pidin: Design, yksityiskohtien balanssi, persoonallisuus.
Mitä tuotteessa voisi parantaa: Pysyvyyden lisääminen tekisi tuotteesta täysin viiden tähden arvoisen.

On the whole, the Lady Gothica leg covers were together with Blacklace Cardigan my other favorite and I've been using these diligently. 

What I liked about the product: Design, balance of the detailing, personality.
How the product could be improved: Being able to fully trust that theleg warmers stay up would make this a five star product!

Black Premium: Blacklace Cardigan

Kuten Gothicana, myös Black Premium on EMP:n oma tuotemerkki. Tuotesarjan neule Blacklace Gardigan on ehkä parasta ikinä! Se kulkee mukanani tällä hetkellä suunnilleen kaikkialle ja on päälläni tälläkin hetkellä! Selkäosa on kukkakuvioitua pitsiä, mikä antaa siihen kiehtovan viban. Muita yksityiskohtia ovat taskut ja huppu.

Kangas on kevyt, ohut ja pumpulinpehmeä. Se lämmittää, mutta hengittää samalla. Se on ihan äärimmäisen mukava useampaankin säätilanteeseen ja minä, joka tuppaan kärsimään samanaikaisesta läkähtymisestä ja palelemisesta, koen tämän todellisena überkäytännöllisenä tuotteena: pitsiselkä mahdollistaa viilentymisen samalla, kun käsivarsille kuitenkin saa lämpöä.

Jos väkisin on etsittävä jotakin parannettavaa, voisi tuotteeseen liittää esimerkiksi nauhat tai napin, jolla sen saisi yhdestä kohdasta halutessaan kiinni. En ole kokenut tätä kuitenkaan välttämättömyydeksi tai liian häiritseväksi asiaksi.

As Gothicana, also Black Premium is one of EMP's own brands. The Blacklace Cardigan of the series is like the best ever! I've fallen in love with it and it really goes wherever I go now. Actually, I'm wearing it right now, writing this post. The back part is actually lace, giving the product an interesting vibe. Other details are the pockets and the hood.

The fabric is extremely light, thin and soft as cottonwool. It keeps you warm but still breathes. It is highly comfortable for different weather occasions. I, as a person who tends to suffer from feeling both hot and cold at the same time, find this very über practical: The laced back allows the cooling while your arms are kept warm.

If you are forced to look for something to improve, it could be nice that the cardigan could be fastened with something. For example with one button or some ribbon. I haven't, however, experienced the lack of this too disturbing.

Pesuohjeet löytyvät sisäsaumasta. Normaalikäytössä lappu ei pahemmin vilahtele. Vain, kun malli heiluttelee kangasta näin epämääräisesti. ;)

The washing instructions are sewed to inner seam. In normal use the patch doesn't flash. Only, when the model is moving the fabric with such weird way. ;)

From the pictures below and above you can easily see how aerial the fabric really is. The upper picture shows that the EMP's product patch is sewed to the hood seam.

Burleska: Melissa Waist Coat

Burleskan Melissa Waist Coat on nyörillinen liivi, jonka persoonallisuus sai minut kiinnostumaan siitä. Siinä viehättää itseäni muun muassa ihana kaulukseen ja siitä alaspäin sekä selän nyörityksen sivuille keskittyvä pitsikuviointi sekä välikangas, jossa napit ovat. Se on samaan aikaan naisellinen, mutta myös asenteikas.

Melissa Waist Coat of Burleska is a vest with string lacing. The individual looks caught my curiosity. I'm attracted for example to the lovely laced fabric, covering the area of the collar and downward, plus the sides next to the strings on the back. I also liked the middle part in which the actual buttons are. This vest is both feminine and it also has got some attitude!

Muutamia pieniä haasteita olen kokenut tämän vaatteen kanssa. Tuote on luokiteltu korsetiksi, mikä on melko ymmärrettävää, sillä vaatteen kireyttä voi hieman säädellä korsettimaisesti nyöreillä. Korsetiksi en sitä itse varsinaisesti kutsuisi kuitenkaan, sillä  luita (ei myöskään muovisia) vaatteessa ei ole, ja kiristystä se ei kestä juurikaan. Nyörit ovat siis enemmänkin koristeeksi.

Tästä näkyy, mitä tarkoitin sanoessani alaosan
olevan hieman yläosaa löysempi omalla kohdallani.

Toinen haaste oli yleinen istuvuus. Päälläni on koon S versio, mutta silti se tuntui asettuvan hieman epätasaisesti. Alaosasta vaate tuntuu löystyvän, ja vaikka nyörejä kiristäisi alhaalta enemmän, nauhat liukuvat piakkoin kiristymään enemmän vyötärön kohdalta, jolloin etuosan nappien kiinnitys pingottuu ja kangas lähtee venymään. Halterneck-kaulus on joustamaton ja täten rasittaa omalla kohdallani niskaa. Huomioonotettava seikka kuitenkin on, että selkäni on huomattavasti keskimääräistä pitempi, mikä saattaa vaikuttaa tällaisiin asioihin.

I faced a couple challenges that might be good to point out. The product was cathegorized as a corset (Notice! The international section uses the term corsage!). This is rather understandable because you can theoretically adjust the size a bit with the string lacing. I still wouldn't call it a corset since it has no bones (no plastic ones, either) and it can't really take tightening. The lacing is mostly for decoration.

The other challenge was the general fitting. I was wearing the size S and it felt like setting on me a bit unevenly. The bottom of the garment feels loose, and although you would tighten more from the bottom, the strings will slide soon to tighten the waist line causing the front buttons fastening stretched and the fabric starts to stretch. Halter-neck collar is inflexible and thus the strain at least in my own neck. Consideration, however, is that my back is significantly longer than average, which may affect to this.

Napeissa on somat ankkurit. Ankkurinapit ovat koristeet, varsinaisesta kiinnityksestä vastaavat nuo pienet mustat napit keskellä. Kuvasta näkee melko hyvin pingottuminen, mikäli kiristys karkaa epätasaiseksi.
The buttons have cute anchors. The anchor buttons are for decoration and for fastening you use those little black buttons in the middle. You can somewhat see the stretching which happens if you try to tighten the garment.

Toimitus / Delivery

Lopuksi vielä sananen toimituksesta! Tuotteet tulivat todella nopeasti, muutamassa päivässä tilauksesta. Ne saapuivat hyvin pakatussa pahvilaatikossa, jonka sisällä vaatteet olivat muoveissaan suojattuina.

Finally, a word about the delivery! The items were delivered very fast, in just a couple days from my order. The products arrived in well packed box, and the clothes were protected, wrapped in plastic.

Lisäksi laatikosta löytyi fiksusti kirjekuoreen pakattuna yksi tuotteistani. Mikä se oli? Seurailehan, niin saat kuulla seuraavassa tuotearvostelukirjoituksessani! :)
